Teklife Records Releases A Posthumous DJ Rashad Album
Afterlife is the first release from the newly formed label.
In February, the Chicago-based Teklife crew announced plans to release Afterlife, a tribute to DJ Rashad who passed away in 2014. The album, which was released today, features 14 previously unreleased tracks from Rashad and fellow Teklife collaborators, including DJ EARL and DJ Spinn.
In a press release for the album, the Teklife crew wrote, "With such a prolific body of work as both a solo artist and in collaboration with other musicians, it would be impossible to present a definitive collection of DJ Rashad's music and many many classics will remain unreleased for ever. Afterlife is our tribute to our friend and our inspiration."
A percentage of the proceeds from the album's sales will go to Rashad's family. Listen below via SoundCloud and purchase the album digitally or physically on the Teklife website.
