Early data suggests that next week will be a massive one for Prince on the U.S. charts. The compilation The Very Best Of is predicted to sell the equivalent of 85,000 to 100,000 copies in less than 24 hours. Previously Billboard expected that Sturgill Simpson and Rihanna would duke it out for the top spot, but listeners were only predicted to pick up the equivalent of 45,000 copies of each record.

Prince singles are doing well too: in total, his track sales are expected to eclipse 900,000. As Spin pointed out, the singer also occupied the top 15 spots on the iTunes’s store sales chart this morning.
