Prince’s Sister Claims The Singer Did Not Have A Will
Tyka Nelson asked a court to act quickly to appoint an administrator.
AP reports that Prince's only surviving sibling, Tyka Nelson, submitted documents to a Minnesota court Tuesday requesting the appointment of a special administrator to take care of Prince's estate. Nelson's documents apparently encourage immediate action—since her brother did not have a will, no arrangements were in place to handle his business interests. She hopes that a corporate trust company, Bremer Trust, can handle administrative duties.
The current size of Prince's estate is not public knowledge, though AP suggests that his Paisley Park mansion and other property was worth roughly $27 million. In total, he has sold more than three million albums and songs since his death.
