Leicester—a small city in the middle of England and the place where I grew up—is currently enjoying a moment in the U.K. spotlight. In May 2016, the local soccer team, Leicester City Football Club, battled its way against all odds (5000/1, to be precise) to win the Premier League championship. This is the first ever top-level title for the 132-year-old team, which started the season as a total underdog. Understandably, the city is still collectively losing its mind in celebration.
It seems that no one is celebrating harder than The Squad, a local crew of MCs who have come together to make this heartfelt anthem about Leicester's newly found champion status. And here's the curveball: "Fearless" is super catchy, and as novelty songs go, kind of a banger. While it might be full of references you may not get if you're not from Leicester—link me at Clock Tower being one—its joy is infectious.
