Wayne State is located in Detroit and the school’s HIGH program is dedicated to ending college student homelessness. Big Sean’s donation is an endowment that will “provide short-term support to Wayne State students experiencing homelessness or precarious housing situations,” the foundation’s website says.

The Sean Anderson Foundation was founded in 2012 and was created “simply to make the lives of young people better,” Big Sean says on the website. The foundation partners with preexisting programs, as in the case of the Wayne State HIGH program endowment, and is dedicated to charitable programs targeting homelessness, providing health care assistance, educational support and arts and recreational outlets.

In early 2016, the Sean Anderson Foundation paired with the #HealFlintKids initiative to raise more than $82,000 for children poisoned by the Flint, MI water supply, and collaborated with adidas Originals in 2015 to open a brand new recording studio at Big Sean’s high school alma mater.
