Watch Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar Open The 2016 BET Awards
Their fiery performance of “Freedom” set the bar high for the rest of the night.
On Sunday Night, the 2016 BET Awards at the Microsoft Center in Los Angeles kicked off with a surprise appearance from Beyoncé, who played "Freedom," from her latest full-length LEMONADE. The performance also included a brief step-dancing interlude, made even more dramatic by the splashing water on stage. Towards the end of the song, Kendrick Lamar joined Beyoncé and her dancers to close the fiery performance. Watch above.
Suffice it to say that Beyoncé and Kendrick set the bar high for the rest of the artists to perform tonight, which include Desiigner, Young Thug, and Future.
Fans also took to Twitter to express their overwhelming feelings towards the opening performance. View their reactions below.
