Frank Ocean’s Website Has Been Updated With A Cryptic Message About His New Album
“July 2016.”
On Saturday morning, July 2, Frank Ocean updated his website with an image of a library card labelled Boys Don’t Cry and marked “Due Date.” The title of the post, as the HTML code reads, is “Late.” A reminder: Ocean first teased his third album a year ago, in July 2015.
At first glance, it seems like the dates on the library card are in chronological order, running from July 2015 to July 2016. But the latest date in the mix is in fact November 13 2016, which appears on the top third of the image. Already, Reddit users have speculated that Boys Don’t Cry, the album, could arrive in July, with a magazine to follow in November. After all, we know that Ocean’s got “twoooo versions.” When approached by The FADER for comment, a rep for Ocean replied, "No comment, sorry."
Ocean’s brother, Ryan Breaux, has shared the library card image on Instagram, with the caption “BOYS DON’T CRY #JULY2016.”
Obviously, Twitter users are freaking out:
