The nominations for the 2016 Emmy Awards were announced in Los Angeles on Thursday morning and Beyoncé was nominated alongside Kahlil Joseph for directing Lemonade, the blockbuster HBO special that launched the album of the same name. Her nomination is in the category for Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special. Lemonade received four Emmy nominations including Outstanding Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing For A Variety Production, and Outstanding Production Design For A Variety, Nonfiction, Event, or Award Special. Beyoncé has previously received Emmy nominations in 2013 for her Superbowl halftime show and in 2015 for her On The Run Tour HBO special. The 68th Emmy Awards will be braodcast on September 18, 2016 on ABC.
