Wiley Says He Won’t Release “Pointless” Godfather Album
The grime MC’s new record was due out on September 2.
Wiley is not known for being reliable but it looked like we were about to get a new studio album from the grime MC in September. With grime continuing to grow in popularity around the world Wiley has found himself in demand. He led the Eskimo Dance team at this year's Culture Clash and has been performing live alongside DJ Slimzee all summer. He also popped up with scene-stealing features on Skepta and Lady Leshurr tracks. With that in mind, it's regretful that it appears Wiley has scrapped his upcoming album Godfather.
Tweeting about the move earlier today, July 28, Wiley called the album "pointless" and reached out to anyone wanting him to jump on their track instead. Godfather was supposed to accompany an upcoming autobiography and film. The FADER reached out to a rep for Wiley for a status update on all three projects but did not get an immediate response. Check out his tweets below:
If anyone needs help with a project or Riddims or features holla me.Im here ready to help.
