Young Thug Tells Travis Scott That His Recent Name Change Is Temporary
Thug told Travis Scott that he would only go by No, My Name Is Jeffery for one week, unless he sells 100,000 records.
During a recent interview on the Rap Radar podcast, 300 Entertainment founder Lyor Cohen made an announcement that left many scratching their heads. Cohen told Rap Radar that his label's superstar, Young Thug, would be changing his name to No, My Name Is Jeffery as part of a rebranding campaign for his upcoming Jeffery project.
Young Thug confirmed the name change recently on Travis Scott's Beats 1 show, but said that he would only be going by the new name for a week. "I'm going by Jeffery for one week," Thug said. "If I don't sell 100,000 copies, everybody who's talking about Jeffery...Listen." Thug also said that he was temporarily pushing back the album, which was scheduled to be released Tuesday, in order to allow Travis Scott to record a verse.
