Last week, August 16, The FADER teamed up with SoundCloud Go to host a special London show featuring live sets from Little Simz and Jamie Isaac. It followed a similar free event headlined by Bibi Bourelly in Paris on July 27. In Paris, Bourelly was supported by two of the city's finest emerging musicians: a live set from twisted R&B singer Ta-Ha, as well as producer and vogue aficionado Kiddy Smile in the DJ booth. Bourelly, who boasts a writing credit on Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money,” and released her great debut EP Free The Real: Part #1 this spring, topped the night at the luxury Les Bains hotel off with her powerful live performance.

The London show was another night of music discovery, this time held at Miranda, in the basement of Shoreditch's Ace Hotel. Jamie Isaac opened the show with an intimate live performance featuring highlights from his 2016 debut, Couch Baby. Backed by a two piece band, Isaac ended his set with a stirring rendition of "Last Drop." He was followed on the stage by bubblegum-haired London grime/hip-hop DJ Snoochie Shy who got the crowd hyped for the headline set by playing a set featuring songs by Giggs and Young Thug.

Little Simz took to the stage shortly after 10 p.m. and delivered a set high on energy and lyrical gymnastics with the London MC diving into the crowd to play "Dead Body" alongside her fans. With her career in ascendance, Simz took the time to thank the fans who she recognized before playing the appropriately titled "Gratitude." She also played a brand new song in which she repeated that she's bad to the bone. Most of the crowd hung around while Murlo took over the turntables, kicking off with a Skepta remix, then his own club tunes.
