Over the past 24 hours, there have been conflicting reports about whether or not Frank Ocean's album Blonde is actually on Spotify. FADER staffers in multiple countries have seen in appear, then disappear, throughout the day. A rep for Spotify told The FADER on Wednesday that a "small technical error" was to blame for the confusion, but Frank Ocean seemed to clear up any rumors on Wednesday by posting a screenshot of Spotify's homepage featuring his album. The wireless carrier in the Ocean's screenshot is VINI, a wireless company in French Polynesia.
This whole situation is actually worth noting because it was reported in August that Spotify would be limiting promotion for artists who had exclusivity deals with Apple Music. This screenshot appears to somewhat reject that report — at least in French Polynesia.
A representative for Frank Ocean was not immediately available. Some of the songwriting credits for Blonde were released on Wednesday, check them out here.
