The family of Thomas Mikal Ford confirmed a report from TMZ that the actor has passed away at the age of 52. Ford was known best for playing the role of Tommy on the classic '90s sitcom Martin. TMZ broke the news after reporting earlier today that the sitcom star had been on life support "after an aneurysm ruptured in his abdomen," before issuing a follow-up report that his family had made the decision to turn off support.

Ford was joined by his co-star Carl Payne at his bedside this morning, and both Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell Martin have joined a substantial outpouring on social media remembering their friend.
