Gucci Mane Shows Love For His “Favorite Author,” Malcom Gladwell
“I read Blink, Outliers, and Tipping Point.”
In a New York Times profile written shortly after his release from prison, Gucci Mane explained that he spent his inside working out and reading. The books mentioned in the interview were the Bible, plus self-help books by Tony Robbins and Deepak Chopra. However, Guwop gave another insight into his reading habits on Sunday, October 23, when he tweeted Malcolm Gladwell to tell him he was his favorite author.
Gucci's interest in Gladwell, who is a New Yorker staff writer and has written five New York Times best-sellers, was first shown on the Atlanta rapper's Snapchat. One snap from Sunday showed him backstage at California's Beach Goth festival holding a copy of Gladwell's 2013 book David and Goliath. When a fan tweeted Gladwell to tell him La Flare was reading his book on the nature of the underdog, Gladwell responded:
Responding to Gladwell's tweet, Gucci added that he's his "favourite author" and named three more of his books that he'd enjoyed reading.
Blink was first published in 2005 and addresses the way in which the human brain interprets events and how past events go on to inform future decisions unconsciously. The Tipping Point meanwhile, looks at how problems like crime behave like epidemics and can rapidly change direction. Both have sold over 2m copies each.
