J Stalin, G-Eazy, And The Jacka Revisit A Bay Area Classic On “Party Jumpin 2”
On Behalf Of The Streets 2 is out October 28.
"Party Jumpin 2" is J Stalin's sequel to one of his best-loved songs, a regional banger from his debut album On Behalf of the Streets that united him with another respected Bay Area rapper called The Jacka. Although Jacka passed away last year, his presence is still felt on the hook of "Party Jumpin 2," J Stalin's first single from the forthcoming album On Behalf of the Streets 2 premiering today on The FADER. Joining him is G-Eazy, who has some smooth bars of success and sex of his own.
"Me and Jacka already planned on doing a part 2 because everyone loved the original version from my first album, but I was saving it for the sequel album," J Stalin told The FADER in a email. "I wasn’t able to get a new Jacka verse before he passed so I’m thinking to myself, 'How can I make the song doper and more relevant and still have Jacka on it?' So I went back and listened to the original and took a piece of his verse and made it the hook. To further tie it all together, I sampled the same guy I sampled for Part 1 — Freddie Jackson — I just used a different one of his songs.
"Then I thought, 'Who can I put on it to give it that WOW factor?' and it was obviously G-Eazy. He never got to work with The Jacka, and people don’t know, but G-Eazy is a real fan of Bay Area music and this is the first time he’s on a song with Jacka. It ended up being a win-win for everyone."
Listen to "Party Jumpin 2" below, and watch out for On Behalf Of The Streets 2 dropping October 28.
