Pete Burns's family announced yesterday, October 24, that the Dead Or Alive singer had passed away. They confirmed that 57-year-old Burns died after suffering a “massive cardiac arrest.”
U.K. synth-pop band Dead or Alive were best known for their 1985 single "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)." Musicians, actors, and celebrities have paid tribute to Burns with many of his contemporaries from the British pop scene in the 1980s leading the heartfelt messages. Boy George tweeted that the news was "hard to believe" while Marc Almond of Soft Cell remembered Burns as a "fantastic, brilliant creature."
Meanwhile, some fans are sharing their fond memories of meeting Burns when he worked in Liverpool record store Probe in the 1980s.
