Kodak Black Says Other Rappers Shouldn’t Say “Broccoli” Any More
“I don’t smoke broccoli no more. I smoke cantaloupe.”
While Kodak Black spent time in jail this year D.R.A.M. and Lil Yachty enjoyed the huge success of their hit single "Broccoli." Now that he's out, Kodak has caught up with the track and shared his thoughts on Instagram last night, December 14.
In the first video he posted, Kodak was listening to "Broccoli" while riding in a car. "Man, what the fuck man?" he asked, before accusing people of "jocking my lil’ swag." He went on to distance himself from the word, "Look for now on, man, I don’t smoke broccoli no more. I smoke cantaloupe."
Kodak first used the word in 2014 when he rapped “Told the doctor I’m a healthy kid, I smoke broccoli" on “No Flockin.”
Later in the same night Kodak posted a second video in which he said he didn't think other people should use the word going forward. “You niggas can’t say broccoli no more,” he said. “You niggas gotta say spinach or some shit. You niggas don’t smoke broccoli, y’all smoke spinach.”
Lil Yachty was quick to respond with his own video, stating that he always shouts out Kodak when he performs the song and adding that he doesn't smoke anyway.
As well as getting involved in the light-hearted debate, Kodak Black also shared a new song yesterday. Listen to him and DeJ Loaf team up on the festive "All I Want For Christmas" now.
