Essence Festival has announced its first wave of confirmed performers, and Solange, Erykah Badu, and are scheduled to perform, Billboard reports. Mary J. Blige and Diana Ross are set to headline the festival, which will return to the Superdome in New Orleans on June 30-July 2, 2017.
Other confirmed artists for 2017 Essence Festival include Teyana Taylor, Chaka Khan, Jazmine Sullivan, John Legend, and Moses Sumney. "This year’s festival lineup puts women at the forefront of an incredible weekend of entertainment featuring more than 40 performers,” Essence president Michelle Ebanks said in a press release.
