Jack Dorsey Says Twitter Is “Thinking A Lot About” Giving Users The Ability To Edit Tweets
The Twitter CEO told one user that “a form of edit is def needed.”
A feature that users on Twitter have long requested could soon be coming to the platform, according to the site's founder and CEO Jack Dorsey. On Thursday, Dorsey asked for feedback from his followers, asking for suggestions on how the social media platform could improve upon user experience. As expected, many suggested a feature that would allow for tweet editing, and some of Dorsey's responses seemed to indicate that Twitter is strongly considering the possibility.
Dorsey engaged with the responses to his tweet, asking users whether the function should allow tweet editing for a brief period or a longer amount of time. He also brought up the issue of accountability, noting that Twitter is often used as the public record. "Yes, a form of edit is def needed," he replied to one user and said to another responder that the company is "thinking a lot about it."
