Solange took to Instagram on Thursday to share a behind-the-scenes clip of the recording of "Interlude: I Got So Much Magic, You Can Have It," an interlude from her A Seat at the Table album which features Kelly Rowland and Nia Andrews. On the record, the interlude comes just before "Junie," Solange's song dedicated to funk pioneer Junie Morrison, who passed away on February 16.
In the caption of the video, Solange explained that they wanted the interlude to feel like a warm-up for a middle school talent show. "nia and kelly are too good , so I played them the demo like two times so we would still have the learning spirit. we did 3 takes, then we all had to rush and pick up our sons," she wrote, mentioning that she wrote the a cappella vocal after "Junie" as a sort of joke. "But i meant it. still thinking about junie. still thinking about the super spirit," she said.
