Northside 2017: Miguel, Dirty Projectors, And Kamasi Washington Confirmed For New York Festival
Other artists set to play Brooklyn shows include Girlpool, Jay Som, Vagabon, and Ricky Eat Acid.
The 2017 Northside Festival will happen June 7-11 at venues across Brooklyn. The initial line-up for the festival, announced today, includes Miguel, Dirty Projectors, and post-hardcore band Thursday all headlining McCarren Park benefit shows. A portion of proceeds from these will go to the Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn (OSA), a nonprofit dedicated to building a stronger North Brooklyn by improving 45 parks and playgrounds.
Other artists confirmed for club shows across various venues in Brooklyn are Downtown Boys, Elvis Depressedly, Elysia Crampton, The Explosion, Foodman, Girlpool, Happyness, Hoops, The Hotelier, Jay Som, Jeff Rosenstock, Jlin, Julia Holter, Kamasi Washington, Kate NV, Lætitia Sadier, Lower Dens (performing songs from ABBA's Gold: Greatest Hits), Mary Timony, Mild High Club, Mirah, Moor Mother, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, PUP, Ricky Eat Acid, SALES, Timber Timbre, U.S. Girls, Vagabon, and William Basinski. More names are due to be announced shortly.
In addition to live music, Northside will also welcome a number of guest speakers across three days of conference keynote talks, interviews, panels, and more. Speakers confirmed include SNL's Sasheer Zamata and Andy Cohn of The FADER.
