Ezra Koenig Shared Updates On The Upcoming Vampire Weekend Album
“It’s a lil more springtime than the last one. guitar’s not dead.”
Ezra Koenig, the frontman of Vampire Weekend, took to Instagram on Friday to provide some updates on the group's next album. "Every day I get comments & questions about the next Vampire Weekend album," he wrote. "Obviously, we gotta take our time & get it right but the fans deserve some information.”
In the post, Koenig said that he has spent this "year recording, trying to finish ASAP." He also shared some details about the sound of the album thus far: "it's a lil more springtime than the last one. guitar’s not dead." Additionally, Koenig revealed that two songs on the project are currently titled “Conversation” and “Flower Moon” and the album's working title is Mitsubishi Macchiato, though he clarified that "all of that information is subject to change."
In January 2016, Koenig announced that Rostam Batmanglij was leaving the group. The announcement was also the first time that Koenig announced the Mitsubishi Macchiato working title.
