Pharrell Williams Is Producing A Musical Inspired By His Life Story

Fox Studios has picked up Atlantis, a musical film inspired by the life of Pharrell Williams, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project will be directed by Broadway veteran Michael Mayer, and will be produced by Williams and Mimi Valdes through their I Am Other company.

The musical will mark Williams's second film production with Fox, following his work on Hidden Figures, which was nominated for three Academy Awards. Atlantis is being described as “a Romeo and Juliet style story inspired by his childhood in Virginia Beach.” Williams also produced Roxanne Roxanne, which recently made its debut at Sundance in January.
