Tinashe Offers An Update On Her Much Delayed Joyride
“I plan on doing a solid few more months recording then hopefully getting it out this year.”
Tinashe has said that she is still recording her new album Joyride and that she aims to release it later in 2017. The R&B artist spoke to The Guardian in a new interview published over the weekend in which she addressed the issues surrounding an album first announced over 18 months ago.
“Things haven’t always gone according to my original plan,” she said of the delays, “but that’s life, and things change.”
On the same subject, Tinashe added: “It’s not like it’s sitting in a vault locked up, it’s always getting better and improving. I plan on doing a solid few more months recording then hopefully getting it out this year.”
Elsewhere in the interview Tinashe confirmed a rumor that Joyride's title track was briefly taken off her for inclusion on Rihanna's Anti. “Yeah, that’s true,” she said. “But I don’t know if it was personally Rihanna, like, ‘I’m taking that from Tinashe.’ I don’t think that’s how it worked. But it’s back now.”
