Show Love And Support For The Grenfell Tower Residents With This Charity T-Shirt
Stormzy, J Hus, and Rita Ora have been spotted wearing the design.
London is still in a state of shock over the Grenfell Tower blaze, which officially took the lives of 79 people on June 14. That figure is expected to rise significantly and people across the city are looking to the U.K. government for answers while trying to help the survivors and the families of those who died in the fire. As well as donating their money and time, one way people have found to contribute to the victims has been via a charity T-shirt spotted on the likes of J Hus, Rita Ora, and Jeremy Corbyn.
The white shirt, which features a logo that looks like a London underground station sign shaped in a heart, is the work of designer Charlie Crockett and stylist Kyle Devolle. They set up Love4Grenfell to help the residents of the west London tower and 100% of their proceeds will go to the families who were living in the tower. The shirt was boosted recently when Stormzy wore his while performing at Glastonbury. During his festival set the grime MC unzipped his blue tracksuit top to show off the shirt prior to rapping his verse from the Artists For Grenfell charity single, which is currently No. 1 in the U.K.
Speaking to The FADER via email, Charlie Crockett said: "This has affected everyone that lives and works here [London]. Everyone knows somebody that lives in a tower block, from a friend to a relative or a work colleague. We have decided to give the money raised to the residents and victims directly. It has been manic, lots of help lots of hours, and not much sleep."
At just £10 each the item has proven popular among young people wanting to do their bit to help too. Find a selection of people wearing their Love4Grenfell tees below and buy yours here.
