NYC-based experimental artist Grey Gersten, just released a debut album, Naked Light. Today, The FADER is premiering a new video for the stirring track "You Can't Stop." Directed by experimental filmmaker Peggy Ahwesh, the video moves between raw, earthly images and a rich artistic performance, including footage shot at Marta Becket's Amargosa Opera House in Death Valley Junction. At its core, the song embraces love beyond boundaries: "Your heart's not confused/ it's just wild and freewheeling," Gersten sings with a soothing air over a tranquil guitar strum.
“You Can’t Stop is a post-gender love song,” Gersten told the FADER via email. "America is beginning to recognize that love is beyond anyone’s control. We’re moving through a crumbling landscape, away from the mechanical romance dance, into something free.” Watch above.
