The man who created Night Of The Living Dead, and who inspired an entire genre of filmmaking, passed away at the age of 77 after fighting lung cancer. According to TMZ he passed away while with family.

Not sure there's a single filmmaker who influenced horror in pop culture more than George Romero. This is a dark, devastating day. pic.twitter.com/hG81eNZkwb
