Listen To Episode 48 Of OVO Sound Radio
“LEGENDARY OVO SOUND RADIO TMRW!!!!!!! BAD BREED BAD BOY TAKEOVER”
Tonight's episode of OVO Sound Radio is hosted by Oliver El-Khatib. Sean "Diddy" Combs a.k.a. Puff Daddy is taking over the segment to exclusively premiere his new single "Watcha Gon'Do?" featuring Biggie and Rick Ross.
After opening with tracks like Toddla T's "Magnet" featuring Andrea Martin, Wizkid's "Nobody," and Roy Woods' "What Are You On?," El-Khatib threw on some remixes. From there, he handed the set over to Diddy. Drake formally introduced his special guest all the way from Houston, Texas and dubbed this episode as "the most legendary show ever."
Diddy recorded his mix while on vacation in Capri, Italy. In addition to the world premiere of "Watcha Gon' Do?," he played some classics like "Young G's" featuring The Notorious B.I.G. and JAY-Z and a Harve Pierre remix of French Montana's "Unforgettable." Diddy also debuted Cassie’s brand-new single “Love a Loser” featuring G-Eazy. The track is Cassie's first release since 2012.
"The thing I like about OVO Sound is it puts me on to different vibrations," said Diddy. "Just sing from your heart and always tell the truth. Let's go, let's rock."
Diddy took a moment to declare JAY-Z's 4:44 as the album of the year before putting on "Family Feud" featuring Beyoncé. "As an artist, you have a responsibility to grow. JAY-Z has inspired me, I inspire people, we inspire each other," he said. "This album is not just an album, it's necessary. It's a change in thinking and the way we support each other. It ain't no old, it ain't all new... If you ain't listening to it, you're doing yourself a disservice."
Toward the end, Diddy played “F*ck the Summer Up” by his son, Christian "King" Combs. He dedicated the track to all the hustlers out there, calling Virginia Black a "power move" and encouraging Future to keep getting money for all the memes. After breaking down all of his various monikers and talking about being a part of the "Team Love movement," Diddy closed his mix with "Bad Boy Watcha Gon' Do? Dre Day."
DJ Candlestick and OG Ron C also provided guest mixes for the segment. The jam-packed show closed with a premiere of Metro Boomin and Nav's entire Perfect Timing album. Episode 48 is available to stream on Apple Music.
