Model, DJ, and activist Munroe Bergdorf has signed on to Illamasqua's new beauty campaign, the company announced on Wednesday. Bergdorf was recently fired from a L’Oréal campaign that championed diversity after she called out white supremacist violence in the wake of Charlottesville.
"Honestly I don't have energy to talk about the racial violence of white people any more," Bergdorf wrote in a since-deleted Facebook post. "Because most of ya’ll don’t even realise or refuse to acknowledge that your existence, privilege and success as a race is built on the backs, blood and death of people of colour."
Following L’Oréal firing of Bergdorf, Illamasqua, who has hired the trans activist and model in the past, issued a statement, writing that the brand "stands proudly and unashamedly for diversity and equality."
