Seth Firkins, a longtime studio fixture in the Atlanta rap scene, passed away on Saturday (September 23). He was 36 years old.
A Louisville, Kentucky native, Firkins moved to Atlanta in 2006 and began working as a sound engineer for Rocko and Future. Though he became a go-to engineer for the city's rappers — such as Zoey Dollaz, Young Thug, and more — Firkins also scored credits on Jay-Z’s American Gangster, and Rihanna’s Unapologetic.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Future payed homage to his in-house engineer. "I always gave racism a cold shoulder because my real brother Is a white guy by the name of Seth Firkins," the rapper wrote. "I love u beyond this post, I will cherish u forever big bro."
