A GoFundMe started by Clark County Commission Chair Steve Sisolak has surpassed its initial target of $2m and is on course to raise $3.5m for victims of the mass shooting in Las Vegas on Monday.
Sisolak says the funds raised "will be used to provide relief and financial support to the victims and families of the horrific Las Vegas mass shooting." As of 4:30 a.m. on October 3 the GoFundMe has raised over $2.9m
A lone gunman, named by police as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, is reported to have opened fire on people attending the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival at Vegas's Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino on Sunday night. At least 59 people were killed and another 527 injured in what is the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
