Rock musician Tom Petty has died after being taken off life support following a full cardiac arrest, according to a statement from his longtime manager.
Petty is best known for his band Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, who created the classic hits "Mary Jane's Last Dance," "American Girl,"and "Free Fallin'" to name a few. Their thirteenth album Hypnotic Eye came out in 2014 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In 2002, Petty was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and is one of the best-selling musicians of all time.
