Beyoncé shares special “Freedom” video for International Day of the Girl
The aim is to “end all forms of violence against girls.”
Beyoncé shared a clip on Wednesday in honor of the International Day of the Girl staring a group of young women from all over the globe performing her song "Freedom." The video was produced in conjunction with Chime for Change, and The Global Goals, who are both working to empower women and “end all forms of violence against girls.”
The video comes after the campaign used The Spice Girls's "Wannabe" to get our their message last year. The clip's director MJ Delaney told Glamour on Wednesday that she wanted the video to have a tougher tone this time around. "Happy, smiley joy doesn't really cut the mustard now," she said. "A lot has happened globally, and I wanted to do something defiant and angry and demanding."
