During a performance at a Red Bull event in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 14, Flying Lotus appeared to end his set by rejecting recent accusations against former Brainfeeder artist The Gaslamp Killer. After ending the show with a song by The Gaslamp Killer, Flying Lotus told the crowd: "The internet is a fuckin’ liar. Ain’t nobody judge and jury but the fuckin’ law, okay?… Thank you guys so much for coming, let truth and justice have its day.”

Last week, Twitter user @chelseaelaynne accused The Gaslamp Killer, real name William Bensussen, of drugging and raping her and her friend in 2013. "The Gaslamp Killer drugged my best friend and myself at a party at the Standard Hotel, had non-consensual sex with both of us while we were completely incapacitated, and then dumped us back in front of the standard after it happened,” she wrote on Twitter.

In a statement on Friday, Bensussen denied the allegations, and wrote that he would "never hurt or endanger a woman."

Brainfeeder also issued a statement on Friday. “We did not have any knowledge of the alleged incidents, and condemn any such actions across the board,” the label said on Facebook.

In a series of deleted tweets from 2016, Flying Lotus compared rappers who take advantage of producers to rapists, writing "hella rap artists are rape artists.” When confronted by a Twitter user about trivializing sexual assault, he responded, "My art is like a sacred vagina, I’m very selective of who I let smash and prefer it not to be fondled inappropriately.”

Representatives for Flying Lotus and Red Bull were not immediately available for comment.
