Drake reportedly didn’t submit More Life for Grammy consideration
A source told AP that Drake didn’t submit the playlist project for Album of the Year or Best Rap Album for the 2018 awards.
Over the course of his career, Drake has earned 35 Grammy nominations and won three awards. But this year, the Toronto artist didn't submit his latest album More Life, which he referred to as a "playlist project," for consideration from The Recording Academy, AP reports.
A source close to the Grammy nomination process told AP that Drake didn't submit the album for Album of the Year or Best Rap Album, nor did he submit any songs from the project for categories such as Song of the Year or Best Rap Song.
More Life debuted at No. 1, following its release in March. In the 24 hours after the premiere of the project on Beats 1, Apple Music users streamed More Life 89.9 million times.
The nominees for the 60th Annual Grammy Awards will be announced on November 28. Music released between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017 are eligible for nomination. The event will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York on Jan. 28.
Representatives for Drake and The Recording Academy were not immediately available for comment.
