After the owner of the Houston Texans, Bob McNair, said "we can't have inmates running the prison," in reference to players that protest during the national anthem. McNair ultimately walked backed those comments in a press release after negative feedback, including the Texans organizing a protest in response.
JAY-Z also took notice of the comments and addressed the situation, which can be seen in the video above. After rumors that he turned down offers to perform at the 2018 Super Bowl, JAY-Z wore a Kaepernick jersey during his SNL performance.
"Injuring themselves on the field, giving it all they got. That’s how they look at you. That’s what they think about you," said JAY-Z, which can be seen in the video below. "We got so much further to go. The truth is we all believe in whatever you believe in. God, Allah. Whatever you believe in, we come from one source which means we are all brothers and sisters at the end of the day.”
