"Power, power, this is my finest hour," sings U.K. teen Isabelle Brown on her remarkably self-assured debut single. "Pot Of Gold" is the first we have heard from the 14-year-old, who calls the seaside town of Brighton home. Channeling a soulful Winehouse-esque vocal over a vintage, brass-heavy instrumental, Brown is joined on the track by Arizona rap trio Injury Reserve to create something nostalgic and fresh at the same time. Listen to the song, premiering on The FADER, below.
Speaking to The FADER via email, Brown said:"'Pot of Gold' is about fulfilling your potential. People can interpret the lyrics in different ways, some may say the earth is a pot of gold and we shouldn't damage it, others may say their talent is a pot of gold and they shouldn't waste it. At the end of the day it's about doing everything you can to the best of your ability. To my surprise, Injury Reserve were interested in working on it after they heard the demo, which was amazing because I think their music is FYIA!"
