Almost immediately after Migos dropped “Motorsport” last week, rumors began circulating online that Nicki Minaj and Cardi B were dissing each other on the same track.
On Tuesday, Nicki Minaj decided to address those rumors directly via Twitter. “I was on the song w/Quavo. No one else was on it. He called & asked if I think we should put Bardi on it, I said ‘ok let’s do it’. The end,” she tweets. She went on to talk about how any published music has to get approved by her before going to streaming services. Of course, Nicki and Cardi would have both heard the song and done something if they felt there was any foul play on the record. “Anything w/my name on it gets approved by me,” Minaj wrote.
Cardi B also addressed the rumors in an interview with Complex, saying that the two could make out and people still wouldn’t be happy about the track. “I feel like people just want that drama just cause it’s entertaining,” Cardi said.
So yes, women rappers can body a track together without attacking one another. Move along.

Migos weren’t even on it yet. Just Quavo. The conspiracy theories r just so tired. Relax. Breathe. Imagine me not knowing who on a song w/me

Anything w/my name on it gets approved by me. It can’t even go on a streaming service w/o me hearing it & giving written approval.

These are men in our culture who simply refuse to let it go. They don’t do this to male M.C.’s. But yo #Motorsport #1 added on urban radio🙏🏽
