A rare Prince album is selling for $15,000
Prince wanted all 500,000 copies of Black Album destroyed.
Five super rare copies of Prince's Black Album are going for $15,000 each right now. Three have already been sold to Jeff Gold, a former Warner Bros. Executive Vice President who now runs Record Mecca, and at least one will likely be up for auction next year.
According to Rolling Stone, Prince had roughly 500,000 pressed copies destroyed prior to the album's release, after he decided the album was "evil." Gold, who's selling the albums on Record Mecca for $15,000, told Rolling Stone that Black Album is "easily one of the rarest records in the world, if not the rarest."
