Young Thug singing along to Fun.’s “Some Nights” is the purest thing that ever was
“This is it, boys, this is war.”
Young Thug has always been able to push the limits of the genres he swerves in and out of, but a new clip show us how easily he can bring whatever the hell he wants to into his world. Rock-pop band Fun.'s 2012 sleeper smash "Some Nights" — which always sounded like a '90s Broadway showtune to me — might not seem like it'd be Thug's favorite song, but he knows every single word. You just have to watch the video below.
When Fun.'s lead singer Nate Ruess sings, "And that's alright, I found a martyr in my bed tonight / She stops my bones from wondering just who I am, who I am, who I am," he distorts his voice with some auto-tune during that last bit of repetition. At that point, it's almost hard to tell where Fun. ends and Thugger begins.
This is yet another reminder that the world still needs the long lost Elton John/Young Thug collaboration that we've been waiting on.
