Dua Lipa makes Brit Award history with 5 nominations
The “New Rules” singer joins Stormzy, J Hus, and Lorde, and Kendrick Lamar on the list of 2018’s nominees.
Dua Lipa has become the first woman artist in Brit Award history to pick up five nominations. She joins a list of nominees for the annual British awards ceremony alongside Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, J Hus, Lorde, and Kendrick Lamar.
22-year-old Dua Lipa is up for best album as well as British female, best video, best single, and British breakthrough. Ed Sheeran is narrowly behind her with four nominations, including a nod for the prestigious best album.
J Hus and Rag'n'Bone Man scored three nominations each, while Stormzy is up for a pair of Brits including best male.
The International male catgory will be contested by Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Beck, DJ Khaled, and Childish Gambino. International female, meanwhile, will go to one of Bjork, Lorde, Alicia Keys, Pink, and Taylor Swift.
