Kendrick Lamar's stunning performance at Sunday night's Grammys was an extraordinary mix of rapid-fire rapping, A-list cameos, and truly amazing choreography.
Perhaps most notable was a moment shortly after Dave Chappelle spoke when Kendrick was on stage with just one woman wildly beating on a drum as if it had wronged her. As flames heated things up in the background she began stalking the rapper around the stage, matching his energy and lifting the moment into something truly special.

The woman who accompanied Kendrick in that moment was Charm La'Donna, a dancer, choreographer, and creative director triple threat from Compton. La'Donna was the only dancer to join him on the DAMN. tour in 2017 and began working with him two years prior at the 2015 BET Awards.
29-year-old La'Donna boasts an impressive CV and has also danced for Madonna, The Weeknd, Pharrell, Britney Spears, and Selena Gomez among others in her career.
Speaking to Essence in August 2017 about working with Kendrick, La'Donna said: “This was something that I just couldn’t pass up. The culture, this album, I just loved it. And him being from Compton. I’m from Compton, why wouldn’t I want to dance?”
Talking about "XXX," which she danced to at the Grammys, she added: "That’s where we just go for it...we just move, you know what I’m saying? And that’s the best part of being creative. It’s so dope."
