A Tribe Called Quest share a star-studded “Space Program” music video
The futuristic clip features cameo appearances from Erykah Badu, Rosario Dawson, Janelle Monae, and more.
A Tribe Called Quest shared a new music video today for "The Space Program," the intro track from their late-2016 album We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service. The futuristic-style clip includes a bevy of star-studded cameos throughout and calls out white supremacy.
Directed by Warren Fu, the video sees Tribe head honcho Q-Tip wake up in a dreary space capsule, playing chess with himself and watching images of riots and racist slogans on a series of small television screens before jumping off the ship onto a barren land where they face off in a chess match with a faceless opponent. ATCQ member Jarobi White also pops up to dish out his verse while donning some nomadic apparel.
Throughout the video, musicians and actors including Common, Erykah Badu, Rosario Dawson, Alicia Keys, and Janelle Monae pop up on these screens to sing the tune's hook. Tribe ended the clip with a commemorative photo of late crew member Phife Dawg.
