OG Maco is in “critical but stable condition” his family have confirmed. News of the rapper's hospitalization broke on Friday (December 13) with his manager, Poppa Perc, telling Allhiphop that he had shot himself and had been taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
On Monday, Maco's family shared an update from the hospital stating that he is "currently in critical but stable condition" and "receiving the best possible care." The family added that they are staying hopeful as he continues to fight" and that further updates will come via the OG Maco social channels only.

OG Maco first emerged in 2011 and went on to release his most popular song, "U Guessed It," three years later. His sole studio album, The God Of Rage, was released in 2021.
In 2016, Maco was involved in a car accident that left him without his right eye. In addition to providing an update on his condition, Poppa Perc also said that Maco was planning a "rebrand" and was ready to drop new music under a new alias.
