Watch a new video from Loski, the London rapper you need to know
Check out “Forrest Gump” from the upcoming mixtape Call Me Loose.
Loski is an artist who floats between the various rap worlds in London. He came up as an affiliate of Kennington's Harlem Spartans, a drill crew known for their no-holds-barred tales of street life. However, he has carved out an exciting solo career making sunnier, more pop-leaning tracks like "Teddy Bruckshot" and "Cool Kid." The latter of which caught the attention of both Drake and Stormzy.
Today, 18-year-old Loski releases his new single "Forrest Gump" alongside an accompanying visual. Premiering on The FADER, the video catches Loski surrounded by greenery as he raps about needing "more champagne, I'm feeling way too fly" over a bass-heavy beat courtesy of producers IO and TSB. It's a confident introduction to the artist with a chorus begging to be played over and over.
Speaking to The FADER via email, Loski said: “The ‘Forrest Gump’ video was different and exciting because I’ve wanted to do it for ages. We changed the location a few times because we knew it had to be sick. In the end, it all worked out."
"Forrest Gump" features on Loski's debut solo mixtape, Call Me Loose, which is out on April 13. Check out the video above.
