David Bowie's image will appear on a limited batch of MetroCards from New York City's MTA, Brooklyn Vegan reports. The five cards can be purchased for $6.50 each at the Broadway-Lafayette stop in Manhattan, a few blocks from where Bowie lived until his death in 2016. That subway station has also been taken over by art featuring images of the late rockstar, as well as the return of "David Bowery," a previous play on the combination of Bowie's name and the famous street in New York.
The cards (and station takeover) were produced by Spotify and are good for two rides each. On the late singer's Facebook page, a representative for Bowie called them "very cool indeed." See the new art and MetroCard options below.
