Janelle Monáe announces feature-length “Emotion Picture” starring Tessa Thompson
To be broadcast the day before new album Dirty Computer arrives.
Janelle Monáe has announced details of what she is describing as an "emotion picture," a visual accompaniment to new album Dirty Computer.
A description of the film states that it is the "story of a young woman named Jane 57821 (Monáe), who is living in a totalitarian near-future society where citizens are referred to as 'computers.'" It co-stars Tessa Thompson, who also features in Monáe's "Pynk" video.
The 44-minute long piece is titled Dirty Computer: An Emotion Picture By Janelle Monáe and will be broadcast across MTV and BET channels on April 26, a day before the album drops.
