Stormzy, Dave, and Sampha nominated for Ivor Novello Awards
The awards recognize achievements in British and Irish songwriting.
The nominees for the 63rd Ivor Novello Awards have been announced with Stormzy, Sampha, and Dave among the nominees. Also up for the pretigious U.K. songwriting awards this year are Ed Sheeran and Everything Everything, both of whom have multiple nominations.
Stormzy is nominated for both his debut album, Gang Signs & Prayer, plus "Don't Cry For Me" from that record. He faces competition from London rapper Dave in the Best Contemporary Song category with Dave nominated for his political epic "Question Time."
Sampha's "(No One Knows Me) Like the Piano" is nominated for Best Song while Mica Levi is a nominee in the Best Original Film Score category for her work on biopic Jackie.
Winners will be announced at a London ceremony on May 31.
