Watch Meek Mill’s first interview since leaving prison
On NBC Nightly News.
Meek Mill was finally released from prison on Tuesday night. He immediately hopped into a helicopter and made his way to a Philadelphia 76ers game. He was joined in those first moments of freedom by NBC's Lester Holt for what will be a lengthy conversation about his imprisonment and the criminal justice system. In the meantime NBC aired a short preview of Meek's first day out.
The clip includes a section in which Meek admits he still does not feel entirely free. "No I don't feel free," he says. "I ain't feel free since I caught this case at the age of 19. I'm 30 now."
Holt also spoke with Michael Rubin, owner of the 76ers, and Philadelphia D.A. Larry Krasner. Check it out above.
