Mustard and RJmrLA’s “Hard Way” video confirms how function-ready the song really is

The perfect summer party starter, featuring the brothers Sremm.

RJmrLA and Mustard’s collaborative album The Ghetto quietly dropped at the end of last year. It’s a concise project filled with L.A.-soaked jams, backed by Mustard’s typically sparse and bass-y function production. But “Hard Way,” the album’s slow-burning, summer-ready standout, is ready to take the spotlight now that the warm weather is actually upon us (thank goodness). It’s a whole party-starting slap, and the video, premiering today on The FADER, proves it. In a giant warehouse, RJmrLA, Rae Sremmurd, and Mustard, throw a low-key shindig with all of their friends that gets larger and more live as the song progresses — just like every great party should.

When asked about the track, RJmrLA shared: "We recorded 'Hard Way' at the homie's house. Jxmmi and I started going back and forth working on the record as soon as we heard the beat. Swae Lee was asleep, taking a nap after recording ten songs, but then when he woke up he heard the record and was like, I gotta get on this, and he did. Every time I'm with them is a good time, so we decided to celebrate that with the video." Watch the video for “Hard Way” above.
